Overview

Nonlinear partial differential equations are widely used to model many problems in materials science, engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, etc. Theoret-ical analysis and scientific computing are two fundamental and important mathem-atical tools for studying these equations which arise in the applied sciences such as complex fluids, pattern formation, soft matter materials, etc.

Under the strong support from the School of Mathematical Sciences and Beijing No-rmal University as well as great help from friends and colleagues inside China and internationally, research groups related to scientific computing and nonlinear partial differential equations at Beijing Normal University have grown rapidly in the last sev-eral years. This workshop will bring together researchers from Beijing Normal Univ-ersity and national as well as international experts in the fields of scientific computi-ng and nonlinear partial differential equations to interact and exchange ideas acros-s different disciplines. This event will also provide an opportunity for local research-ers to show their recent research works, strengthen existing research collaboration and build up new friendship with national and international experts in the fields of s-cientific computing and nonlinear partial differential equations.

Connaught on Long Falls
At an elevation of 2365 m above the sea level, 25 m high and 320 m wide,is one of the most wide travertine falls in China.Connaught in Tib-etan means Masculine God,symbolizing lofty a-nd majestic.Thus the Connaught Long Falls m-eans magnificent and powerful waterfall.In the southern part,the flow of water is va-st.It is cold pressing and springing up drizzly mist.Under the morning sun shining-,we often can see a rainbow hanging cross the valley,which makes the waterfall ev-en more enchanting and charming.

Jianzhu Hai
Jian Zhuhai is 2618 meters above sea level,6 meters deep,an area of 170,000 square mete-rs.Jian Zhu is luxuriant growth of vegetation a-nd China firbys stand erectthe by the lake .Mou-ntains stand facing each other in the river. Zhu-ying is swaying.Even if the severe winter,the lake still shimmers in the sun,full of vi-tality.

Then Zhawa Gou
The Jiuzhaigou of landscape distributes "Y", t-hen Zha Wagou is on the left branch.Then Zha Wagou has three season seas.The first seas-on sea is next to pools,a forest of cliffs all arou-nd,peacefull mountains,with the legend of the places for Dragons hiding themselves,an alter-nate name"CangLong Hai".In the rain season of autumn,the lakes rise,majesty of t-he Lake is azure blue,water is shallow in the summer,light green in color.

After breakfast,we are going to visit th-e fairyland on earth—Jiu Zhaigou. Wh-en we enter into the scenic spot,we tr-ansfer to a sightseeing bus.we will vi-sit Connaught LongFalls,Tree Group Sea,Chang Hai,Five-Color Ponds, Pe-arl Beachs,Colorful Lakes,Jianzhu H- ai,Xiongmao Hai,etc. The majestic an-d unrivalled emerald lakes, layers of waterfalls, colorful forest, snow peaks and Tibetan folkways form a perfectio-n of itself, which is called as "A Wond-erland".Jiu zhaigou is known for Shu-Zheng ditches ,the RiZe ditches,and Then Zha Wagou.Three highest, wid-est, most majestic waterflows distrib-ute in the scenic area,consisting of P-earl Beach Falls,Connaught Long Fa-lls,Xiongmao Hai Falls.There are hun-dreds of high-mountain lakes,dozens of mountainsprings and falls at differ-ent levels,.etc.Jiu Zhaigou is famous for its water,which is very limpidly and mysterious.(It will take six to eight ho-urs to visit sights.)
The fifth day:After breakfast,we will vi-sit Yellow Dragon National Park,which is described as a wonderland.We will enjoy a sightseeing tour of ZhengYan Pools,Ying Bin Pool,waterfalls, goldd-ust everywhere, Huanglong Temple,F-ive-Color Ponds and so on.(About thr-ee to four hours.)

Yingbin Pools

Entering in to Yellow Dragon National Park,we walk through green pines and verdant cypresses,and then see a gro-up of pools which are ingeniously con-structed and water clarity.Pools are dif-ferent sizes and well-arranged.The po-ols are quite as mirrors, the far mount-ains and trees are all eflected into po-ols.That strange,colorful pools,remin-iscent of the innocent young girls fee-lings and baby's bright eyes,and see-ms to pull in people's lives in the myst-erious curtain.
