GENERAL INFORMATION
Conference Venue:
  Yingjie Exchange Center, Peking University, Beijing, China.
Duration:
  July 9~12, 2005; 3.5 days for scientific program, 0.5 day for Great Wall Excursion.
Language:
  English is the official language of the conference.
Presentations:
  For talks: computer's files of Pdf or powerpoint, or transparent papers
    Speakers can use either computer-projector or transparency-projector for presentation. There will be a Presentation-preparation Desk at each registration place. In order to ensure a smooth presentation, speakers who plan to use the meeting room computer are requested to visit the Presentation-preparation Desk and to make a copy of their talks (PDF, or Power Point, or Word) at least one day before their scheduled presentation time; speakers who plan to use their own computer are requested to visit the meeting room and to ensure a good connection in advance (at least 20 minutes before the session started). All speakers are requested to come to the meeting room 10 minutes before the session started.

Registration Fees:
  Before April 1, 2005:
    US$ 200 for IMS members, *

    US$100 for students (limited to 20 selected students). **
  After April 1, 2005:
    US$ 220 for IMS members, *
    US$ 250 for non IMS-members. *

  * The registration fees includes: reception party, fare from hotel to the meeting place, lunch, and a half day visit to the Great Wall.
** Needs a written certificate from your department or institute, and you must give a talk or a poster. Only 20 students are accepted, in order of 'first come first'.
†We'll charge for the fee of accompanying persons programat the meeting place.
IMS Funding:
  For IMS members whose papers have been accepted for oral presentations or posters and who have completed their PhD's after Jan. 1, 2000 or student.
Applications should be sent to beijing5@stat.berkeley.edu by APRIL 30, 2005 with the following information:
  1. Name and IMS ID number,
  2. Date of the PhD, and
  3. A pdf file of a reference letter from the dept. chair or a senior colleague.
25 awards of $200 are expected to be distributed and the recipients will be reimbursed by IMS after the meeting.
Visa:
  For the participants who are not holding Chinese passports, in order for you to obtain the visa to China, you should fill the pre-registration form. The official invitation letter will be sent to you in the middle of May according to the address you provided to us.
