Kinetic Fokker-Planck equations with rough coefficients

摘要:The purpose of this lecture series is to show the theories of well-posedness and Hölder regularity for weak solutions to the kinetic Fokker-Planck equation with rough coefficients. This equation consists of a kinetic transport operator and a second-order elliptic operator with respect to the velocity variable with bounded measurable coefficients, which is highly degenerate but formally has a hypoelliptic structure. We will explain how such degenerate equation is derived from uniformly parabolic equations, and how the hypoelliptic regularity is established by combining the velocity averaging lemma and the elliptic De Giorgi-Nash-Moser theory.
