摘要:Suitable weak solutions are distributional solutions that satisfy the additional localized energy inequality which plays an essential role in analyzing the local behavior of hydrodynamic systems. In this series of lectures, we will investigate two PDE systems modeling the nematic liquid crystal flows: (1) the co-rotational Beris—Edward Q tensor model; and (2) the general Ericksen—Leslie system with Ginzburg—Landau approximation in 3-D. The existence and partial regularity of the suitable weak solutions for both models will be discussed. This is based on recent joint work with Xianpeng Hu (City University of Hong Kong) and Changyou Wang (Purdue University).
