报告摘要
Hilbert's 15th problem is an inspiring and far-reaching one. It promoted the intersection theory of 19th century into the algebraic geometry founded by Van der Waerden and Andre Weil, and has integrated Schubert calculus into many branches of mathematics.
This talk surveys the background, content, and resolution of the 15th problem. In particular, we introduce the Duan-Zhao's solution to the fundmental problem of Schubert calculus: the problem of Characteristics.
主讲人简介
段海豹，中国科学院数学与系统科学研究院研究员，从事代数拓扑、微分拓扑与代数几何研究。2001年入选中科院“百人计划”，2005年获中国数学会陈省身数学奖，2010年获国家自然科学奖二等奖。解决了希尔伯特第15问题核心课题：舒伯特簇的乘法法则；以及双切球问题、Brown猜想等拓扑问题. 研究成果发表于 Invent. Math. 等刊物
