One of the central goals in vertex operator algebras (VOAs) is to understand the tensor categories of the representations of VOAs. A thorough understanding of the general theory of VOA tensor categories is necessary to the construction of Reshetikhin-Turaev 3d TQFT, and the construction of full and boundary 2d CFT. Conformal blocks are central geometric objects that play a crucial role in the representation theory of VOAs. In this talk, I will discuss the recent understanding of conformal blocks.
