Limited aperture inverse scattering problems arise from many important applications. We propose a new method combing the extended sampling method (ESM) and Bayesian approach for the inverse acoustic scattering problem to reconstruct the shape of a sound-soft obstacle using limited aperture data. The problem is formulated as a statistical model using the Baye's formula. The well-posedness is proved in the sense of the Hellinger metric. A modified ESM is proposed to obtain the obstacle location, which is critical to the convergence of the MCMC algorithm. An extensive numerical study is presented to illustrate the performance of the method.

密歇根理工大学教授,本科毕业于清华大学应用数学系,University of Delaware博士。长期致力于研究有限元方法,特征值问题,反散射问题,以及地球物理电磁方法。先后在 J. Math. Pures Appl.,SIAM J. Imaging Sci.等国际刊物上发表论文五十余篇。
