报告摘要
The phase field method is a powerful modeling and simulation tool in diverse research areas. In this talk, Professor Tang will introduce some backgrounds of the phase field modeling, and will review some relevant numerical methods. Professor Tang will emphasize some theoretical progress and challenges on time-fractional phase-field equations.
主讲人简介
Professor Tang Tao obtained his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Peking University in 1984 followed, by a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of Leeds in 1989. Widely known for his expertise in computational mathematics, high order methods and adaptive grid methods, Professor Tang belongs to the winner's circle in mathematics, many times over.
Professor Tang 's honours are as international as they are multiple They include election as a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society and a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). In 2017 came his crowning glory when he was elected as Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. A year later, he was an invited speaker at the 2018 International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM). Being asked to address the ICM is considered one of the highest honours for a mathematician.
