Density functional theory has been playing an important role not only in the classical condensed physics and computational quantum chemistry, but also in emerging attosecond sciences. Robust and efficient numerical methods for the density functional theory are indispensable in the research due to the nonlinearity of the governing equations and the complex configuration of the problem. In this talk, our recent work towards developing numerical methods for the Kohn-Sham and time-dependent Kohn-Sham equations will be introduced, in which the efficiency, robustness, as well as the realization in the library AFEABIC would be described in detail with a variety of numerical examples.
