In 1995, R. Kashaev proposed a fantastic conjecture, called the volume conjecture, which connects two distinctly different branches of mathematics: quantum topology and hyperbolic geometry.
In this talk, I will introduce the background of the volume conjecture and then present some related works joint with Qingtao Chen.
