We present a variational path-space approach to first-order Mean Field Games, where equilibria are fixed points of optimal measures on trajectories. This framework connects optimal transport with population dynamics and remains effective in low regularity regimes where the classical PDE formulation breaks down. A canonical Borel velocity field replaces the formal feedback law, leading to a generalized MFG system. Existence follows from compactness and fixed-point arguments.
