This talk is concerned with the compressible boundary layer system for both single- and two-fluid flows, with or without the effect of a magnetic field. Local well-posedness is established in certain functional settings, which include weighted Sobolev spaces and analytic spaces. The analysis adapts and extends methods and techniques originally developed for the classical Prandtl equations and MHD boundary layers.
