In this talk, we shall present some results on wavelets and framelets in function spaces in Sobolev spaces, which are of particular interest in many wavelet-based applications such as wavelet methods in computational mathematics and characterization of function spaces by wavelets in harmonic analysis. We shall present the basic theory on wavelets and framelets in function spaces. Then we discuss some general results about deriving wavelets and framelets in function spaces from refinable functions.
