报告摘要
In this talk, I will give an introductory survey on some development in 3-manifold topology during the past decade. It is about finite covers of 3-manifolds and their properties. Such properties are called virtual properties of 3-manifolds. We discuss how they are related to hyperbolic geometry and other areas of mathematics, such as geometric group theory.
