In the high dimensional computation problems, we often use the information classes of Λstd of function evaluations and Λall of all continuous linear functionals. It is well-known that the optimal algorithm, the minimal error and the information complexity for Λall can be described through the eigenvalues and the eigenvectors of some operators. The class Λstd is of practical importance, yet the optimal algorithm and minimal error are difficult to characterize. Recently, how to use the results for Λall to analyze the minimal errors for Λstd becomes a hot issue in approximation theory. We will introduce the related results and problems in this talk.
主讲人简介
许贵桥,博士, 天津师范大学数学科学学院教授。多年从事函数逼近论问题研究, 近些年在不同框架下方体等紧集上的信息复杂性及易处理性问题等方面获得了一系列创新成果,解决了一些难度很大的公开问题。已在国际函数逼近论方向的主流期刊《Journal of Complexity》《Journal of Approximation Theory》等刊物上发表论文八十多篇, 2020年获国际信息复杂性委员会颁发的“约瑟夫-特劳布”奖 (Joseph Traub IBC Award 2020)。
