In this talk, we will express the Euler class e(TM) of an even dimensional closed and oriented manifold M by the geometric data of a Finsler metric F defined on TM. In this way, we obtain an intrinsic GBC-formula for Finsler Manifolds. Furthermore, by a geometric localization process, we get a new proof of Lichnerowicz's GBC-formula.
主讲人简介
冯惠涛，南开大学陈省身数学研究所教授、博士生导师；主要从事整体微分几何中的Atiyah-Singer指标理论及其应用的研究，近年来特别关注指标理论在Finsler几何中的应用，在Math. Ann.、Trans. AMS、CAG等国际数学重要刊物上发表了一系列文章。
