Welcome to the Sino-German Symposium on Modern Numerical Methods for Compressible Fluid Flows and Related Problems –MN MCFF2014, sponsored by the Sino-German Center for Research Promotion in Beijing. The objective of the symposium is to bring together active scientists mainly from Germany and China and several top experts from third party with interests in the computational aspects of compressible fluid flows and of related problems appearing in the area of applied sciences. Highlight Topics include:
- Finite difference and finite volume methods
- Discontinuous Galerkin and spectral finite element methods
- Kinetic Schemes
- Efficient numerical schemes for hyperbolic balance laws
- Applications (Dynamics on surfaces, multilayer model for shallow lake bio-physical interactions, parallel adaptive resolution of multiscale phenomena for atmospheric flows etc)
This symposium will be held during May 21-27, 2014 in the Sino-German Center, Beijing. As advocated by the Center, this symposium cordially welcomes participants from a abroad of disciplines including those from industry, for whom lunch and tea will be provided upon registration during the symposium.
The conference program will include more than 40 invited lectures, and some 25-minute contributed presentations. Several discussion sections will be arranged in order to facilitate the exchange of ideas between top experts and young scholars.
